Ph.D. student Ioana Cionea has received a competitive travel grant from the College of Arts & Humanities to support her presentation of research at the National Communication Association conference in Chicago, IL.
Cionea presented three competitively selected papers at the NCA convention in November. One, entitled, "Communicating Worldviews: Communication Competence and Issues in Graduate Student Teaching, Training, and Mentoring" was selected by the Student Section. Cionea's second paper, entitled "Essentializing the Intellect: Burkean Theory, William James, and Romanian Nationalism" was presented on a competitive panel organized by the Kenneth Burke Society and her third paper, "'Interpersonal'…but Intercultural Message Exchange: Argumentation and Self-Construal," was selected for presentation by the International and Intercultural Communication Division.
Cionea competed for the travel support award from ARHU with Ph.D. students from throughout the College.
