Faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland will present research, attend meetings, hold offices, and receive awards at the annual convention of the International Communication Association, May 22-26, 2008, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Two graduate students will present research on "Top Paper" panels. Bing Han's essay entitled "Face Goals in Conflict Avoidance: A Cross-Cultural Analysis" is one of the Top Three Student Papers in Intercultural Communication.
Brian G. Smith's paper entitled "Creating Recognition for Employee Recognition: A Case Study on Marketing Persuasion, Public Relations, and Branding" is one of the Top Student Papers in Public Relations.
