Department to Host Summer NCA Conference

The Department of Communication will host an NCA Summer Conference, July 10-13, 2008, entitled "Methods and Measures for Communication & Cognition Research." The purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity to become familiar with technological advances and cutting edge statistical methods that are now available for studying cognitive processes, by having scholars present and demonstrate the latest developments in technology and statistical methods, introducing researchers to new possibilities for studying social cognition and communication.

The conference is an initiative of the Communication & Social Cognition Division of the National Communication Association.

"Methods and Measures for Communication & Cognition Research" will bring together scholars from around the nation and the world interested in measuring techniques in communication and cognition research. Featured speakers include Ron Tamborini (Michigan State University), Rene Weber (UCSB), Dan Roth (University of Illinois), Annie Lang (Indiana University), George Barnett (University at Buffalo), Colin Smith & Yaov Bar-Anan (University of Virginia), David Roskos-Ewoldsen (University of Alabama), and Miles Paterson (University of Missouri, St. Louis).
