Senior COMM Major Receives ARHU Accolade

Laura Harger, a Honors communication major, is a recipient of the 2007 College of Arts and Humanities Dean’s Senior Scholars Award along with five fellow ARHU seniors.

Harger received the award in recognition of her extraordinary record of academic performance and her commitment to community service. As a writer, she contributed articles to Outlook, the Diamondback, and The Communicator. As an engaged student and citizen, Harger co-founded a Maryland chapter of Model United Nations and represented the department and the university in conferences held at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.ArHU

Harger has also served as an undergraduate teaching assistant in the Communication Department and is a College of Arts and Humanities ambassador and is currently conducting research towards her Honors thesis.

Harger will receive her scholarship ($1,000) at the annual Awards banquest hosted by ARHU Dean James F. Harris in October.
