Reimer to Receive NCA Golden Anniversary Monograph Award

Torsten ReimerAssistant professor Torsten Reimer, along with several co-authors, has been awarded the 2008 Golden Anniversary Monograph Award, presented by the National Communication Association (NCA). Up to three awards are presented annually by NCA to the "most outstanding scholarly monograph published during the previous calendar year." Award recipients may come from any of the areas of the communication arts and sciences.

NCA LogoReimer and his colleagues are receiving the Monograph Award for their article entitled "Effects of the Information Environment on Group Discussions and Decisions in the Hidden-Profile Paradigm," that was the lead essay in the March 2007 issue of Communication Monographs. Communication MonographsThe analysis tested the Information Sampling Model, exploring the different consequences for group discussion and decision-making as dependent upon the use of common versus unique information cues. They will receive their award at the 2008 NCA annual convention in San Diego.
