Khamis Presents Research at International Conferences
Assistant professor Sahar Khamis will present research at two international conferences to be held in September and November 2008.
The first presentation is a paper titled:"Modern Egyptian Media in a Comparative context" and will be presented at the workshop: "Comparing Media Systems beyond the Western World," to be held in the University of California at San Diego on September 26th and 27th 2008. The workshop brings together a pool of communication experts and scholars from a wide array of non-Western countries to compare and contrast the media systems in their countries.
The second presentation is a paper titled: "Transformations, Paradoxes, and Challenges: An Overview of Communication Practices in Egypt" in the Arab U.S. Association for Communication Educators (AUSACE) meeting in Richmond, Virginia from November 14th to 17th, 2008 at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). This essay received the first place award for faculty research presented at the conference.
The conference is an opportunity for communication scholars from both Arab and American universities to exchange their media research experiences and to strengthen mutual cooperation opportunities.
