Professor Shawn J. Parry-Giles and associate professor Trevor Parry-Giles are interviewed in a just released documentary about the 2008 presidential election campaign. Entitled Mile High: How to Win…and Lose…the White House, the documentary is produced by Ether Films.
Ether Films is a small independent film production company in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2001, the company's projects have taken various forms, including feature-length drama and documentary films with an emphasis on unique, intelligent and thought-provoking content. One of Ether's previous films, Overnight, received a wealth of popular and critical praise during its nationwide theatrical release. Ebert and Roeper gave Overnight "two thumbs up" and The New York Times called the film "a fable of false hope, hubris and Tinseltown."
Mile High delves into America's most prestigious spectator sport, the election of the President. The film captures the intensity of the 2008 presidential election, getting up close and personal with presidential candidates, their die-hard supporters, political scholars, and the nation’s most-watched political pundits (including interviews with Dan Rather, Keith Olbermann, the late Tim Russert, and many more). Mile High focuses on the personalities of the presidential candidates and those who support them, avoiding dry details like campaign strategy or fundraising.
