Department Hosts First Annual Grunig Lecture
The Department of Communication was pleased to host the First Annual Grunig Lecture on October 30, 2008. The Lecture honored professors emeriti James & Larissa Grunig and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter at the University of Maryland.
Students, alumni, friends, and colleagues from around the country and the world came to College Park for a series of roundtable discussions on the role of public relations in a time of social media and to hear the Grunig Lecture, delivered by the inaugural lecturer, Richard Edelman, the president and CEO of the world's largest independent public relations firm with 3000 employees in 50 offices worldwide.
