Tonn to Lead Seminars at National Conferences

TonnAssociate professor Mari Boor Tonn has been invited to lead seminars and offer keynote addresses to two significant national conferences to be held in 2008.

Tonn will serve as a seminar leader and keynote speaker for the 2008 Hope Institute for Faculty Development, July 27-August 2 at Randolph-Macon College. The Hope Institute brings together 25 to 40 faculty members from around the nation for an intensive program of research and teaching development. Tonn's seminar will focus on the "Rhetoric of the 1960s," and she joins other seminar leaders from the University of Iowa, Ohio State University, and Penn State.

Tonn has also been invited to lead a seminar at the 2008 Kenneth Burke Triennial Convention to be held at Villanova University on June 29-July 1. The conference theme is "Kenneth Burke: Transcendence by Perspective" and Tonn will conduct a seminar on "Burke & Feminism."
