Wolvin, Lamm Publish Research, Attend Listening Conference

Wolvin Erica LammProfessor Andrew Wolvin and Ph.D. student Erica Lamm are the authors of a contribution in the new edition of Teaching Ideas for the Basic Communication Course, a publication published annually by Kendall/Hunt publishing. Their chapter is entitled "The Triangulated Group Interview Project." The Teaching Ideas series is edited by Barbara Hugenberg & Lawrence Hugenberg.


Wolvin & Lamm also presented research at the 2009 International Listening Association (ILA) convention, held March 19-21, 2009, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The ILA is a professional organization whose members are dedicated to learning more about the impact the listening has on all human activity and it promotes the study, development, and teaching of listening and the practice of effective listening skills and techniques.

Lamm & Wolvin's first paper at the conference was entitled "Students as Listeners: What Motivates Studies to Listen in Class?" and their second presentation, co-authored with Peter Fontana, was entitled "Expert Listeners: Modeling Listening Competency."
