Jeanne D. Fahnestock (Ph.D., University of London, 1970), Professor, Department of English, and Affiliate Faculty, Department of Communication. Books: Figures of Argument: Studies in the Rhetoric of Science (Oxford Univ. Press, 1996), A Rhetoric of Argument (Random House, 1982), and Readings in Argument (Random House, 1985). Articles: 25 articles, book chapters, and reviews appearing in such journals as Nineteenth-Century Fiction, College Composition and Communication, and Victorian Studies.  Teaching/Service: Instructional Improvement Grants on behalf of English Department Writing Programs, 1994; Information Literacy for Writing Teachers, 1993; Assessment of Writing Programs, 1982; Conference with Community College Writing Program, 1988; College of Arts and Humanities Teaching Award (student nominated), 1991; Outstanding Educator Award, 1994.
