Judith B. Tenney (M.A., University of Maryland at College Park, 1972), Lecturer, is visiting the department on assignment from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) where she is currently a senior analyst in the Office of Strategic Management and Planning. In her 34 years of Federal service, she has served as Director of Training and Development for NOAA and the Peace Corps (Domestic), and she has diverse experience in areas related to government reform, human resources and human relations, communication and outreach, and quality management. Among her special assignments was an 18-month assignment to the Office of Vice President Al Gore as a member of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government Outreach Team. In addition to her Federal service, she has taught courses in business and professional communication at Montgomery College (20 years), Prince Georges Community College, and UMUC for 30 years. Her fields of special interest are organizational and interpersonal communication, nonverbal communication, and mass media persuasion. While at UMCP, she will continue working with NASA on the Agency's Strategic Internal Communication Plan.
