| Michael Gurevitch (Ph.D. Massachussetts Institute of
Technology, 1961), Professor, College of Journalism, and Affiliate
Faculty, Department of Communication. His areas of interest include
political communication, comparative media systems and processes of
globalization in the media. He is author and co-author of books, journal
articles and book chapters. Amongst his recent books is Mass
Media and Society (third edition, Edward Arnold 2000) and The
Crisis of Public Communication (Routledge ,1995), based on
observations of BBC newsroom practices in the coverage of election
campaigns. He is also co-editor of Mass Communication
and Society (1977), Culture, Society and
the Media (1982) and Mass Media and Society
(1991 and 1995). He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of
Journalism Studies. |
