Michael F. Meffert (Ph.D. SUNY at Stony Brook, 1999), Research Associate, is interested in political communication, persuasion & attitude change, and media effects. His current research focuses on the influence of mass media messages and discussions in personal networks on preferences for presidential candidates. Other research looks at the consequences of ambivalence (the simultaneous presence of positive and negative reactions toward an attitude object) on individual attitudes and judgments.
