Professional Interests: 

Victoria Ledford is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Department of Communication. She received her B.A. in Public Communication from Marshall University while also earning a Minor in Chemistry. She also obtained her M.A. in Communication Studies from Marshall University; there, she developed her research interests in Health Communication. Her research focuses on the cognitive processes underlying the creation, processing, and effects of health messages and also seeks to understand the role of stigma in those processes. Beyond research, Ms. Ledford has been involved in the world of competitive speech and debate for 10 years and has coached numerous high school and college students to national competitive speaking success. She currently teaches COMM 107 for the University of Maryland.
