Professional Interests: 

Taylor Hourigan is a Ph.D. student in the University of Maryland’s Department of Communication, studying in the Rhetoric and Political Culture track. She received her B.A. in Communication Studies from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she was a trained facilitator for the Center for Public Deliberation. Her research interests include the deliberative process and how to increase its accessibility and diversity, along with Generation Z and their relationship to civic participation and political activism. Taylor is currently teaching COMM 107: Oral Communication: Principles and Practices at UMD.
